The two days Indo-Canadian Workshop on “Urban Electric System Integration with PHEV Charging Stations and Solar Farms” is sponsored by ISTP (Canada) and GITA (India). Under the Canada-India Agreement for Scientific and Technological Cooperation, the two governments have agreed to foster joint activities aimed at generating new or expanded research and technology-based partnerships between the two countries (termed as Partnership Development Activities, PDA).
The theme of this workshop is to discuss and promote the trade and intensive research in the above mentioned area. In future, the urban distribution system has to host charging stations and deliver energy to the automotive sector. This future need beckons research and development in the area of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) charging stations as well as the urban integration of spread-roof-top solar energy farms. Also, there is an immediate need to develop a suite of related technology and software tools for the above said requirement.
