In 2002, I came to India while I was a senior analyst of software technology firm. I came because like most companies, India provided us with a less expensive pool of talent than Silicon Valley did. What I was surprised by, however, was the high quality of the talent.
When we setup our business here in india i and my friend knew India would be a big part of our strategy. We knew that an early stage startup couldn’t really afford the extra overhead of communication issues of having a remote office unless the cost advantages outweighed the efficiency loss. But with bangalore it was all so easy.....
This high-tech Indian city, which is home to major Indian IT outsourcers, including Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro Technologies, as well as many Western IT companies, now employs 160,000 people in the technology sector. IT accounts for 100,000 of these jobs, with the rest in business process outsourcing and call centers.
I am not saying that Silicon Valley is in danger of losing its stature as a tech leade. My point is that Bangalore is provinding global tech companies better options or i can say cheaper options..The vast talent pool here is also one of the reasons companies are moving to bangalore..
This is also true that "In recent months, Silicon valley has seen significant improvement in the jobs situation. Between May and June [including non-tech jobs], it had growth rates very similar to those in 1998 and 1999.
Valley is gradually gaining back some of the thousands of jobs lost in the last couple of years.....
