When the whole world is looking for new talents, India has emerged as a hub for most of the western and European countries. The reasons being, best of the quality, lowest of the cost, good English speaking skills…….

With the increase in the demand, the supply has grown drastically, but as the time passed on, are we providing the talent with same quality? Are the clients happy with the new resources? (Especially with the new talents)

Certainly the wind is blowing from “yes” situation touncertain”. Why is this sudden shift in the environment from the best of quality to good quality? Is it going to be “not so good quality” in the coming future?

What is the reason for it?

Is it the quality of education we are providing?

Or is there any decline in the quality of recruitment?

Does outsourcing of recruitment process have something to do with it?

Are all the new trends in the recruitment process a success?

Reasons being above all, I would like to discuss something on the last few.

Yes, undoubtedly new trends like employee referrals, head hunting, taking the help of technology in the process of recruitment, online video conferencing etc.. have shown excellent results.

At the same time there are few trends like more emphasis on training, (i.e. taking a raw candidate and training) him has been good with the big MNC’s and blue chip companies.

But, how about those companies which cannot invest so much on training. This has become a boon for small companies and start up companies.

Today, it is a known fact that, people has gone to the extent of collecting huge amounts from the backdoor and are offering jobs to unqualified candidates.

Is that back door opening up?

Yes, certainly today companies have grown to the extent of going to the campus, collecting the training cost from the candidates and offering jobs to the unqualified candidates. These unqualified candidates, after working for an year with the organization are found to be unfit for the job has been provided with a experience certificate of 1 year and been terminated.

So, an unqualified candidate who is not eligible to be even a fresher has become an experienced person.

And we know what kind of questions recruiters ask the candidates today. Internet is providing with hundreds of Interview questions with readymade answers which is making a candidate to come over the technical round. Don’t you think this is one of the reasons why there is a decline in the quality of resource produced.

Its high time and time to change, the change should be from both the sides of the coin, i.e. the HR professionals and the management’s which are allowing to such practices.

This is precisely the "inside of HR management" of unscrupulous recruiting houses. But one thing is important such unqualified people cannot survive the tide of corporate governance. Even if they have been selected through backdoor, the demanding corporate house will reject them after the initial orientation when they are found to be poor quality material for their requirment. The positive side of the campus recruitment is "catch them young" when the people are young they can be mouled to suite the requirement of the corporate house which is hiring them. Quality material recruited will certainly excell in their pursuits and contribute towards the upward growth of the organisation. Every aspect has two sides and every coin has two sides, let us take the positive side and leave the negative aspect. At the same time we should be vigilant towards the unscrupulous recruiting agencies.
