Liquidity crunch appears to have come as a blessing for Microsoft, reports Sutanuka Ghosal. The company’s ERP and CRM businesses have witessed more than 100% growth in the third quarter (July-September 2008). A number of institutions like FamilyCredit, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Societe Generale Consumer Finance, VLCC, Feedback Ventures, CTC Mall, Taurus Earth Movers, Celstream Technologies and others have opted for Microsoft’s ERP and CRM solutions to maintain operational efficiency and provide better services to their customers to tide over this present financial crisis.

Talking to ET, Microsoft business solutions India director Sushant Dwivedy said, “Earlier, the trend among Indian firms was how to challenge the threat of globalisation. But now, it’s the question of maintaining competitiveness in the domestic market to survive downturn. They are now making effort to manage receivables, inventories and production lines.”
