You might be aware of trends and technologies that were predicted to revilutionize the whole modern media industry. Infact we witnessed all those predictions like the advent of online advertising, onlinemusic listening, content aggregation, personal and independent publishing, web conferencing and visual presentation tools. Of course we witnesses and even applied most of them. But predictions will be done and humans will left no stone unturned to turn these predictions into reality.

Now again th predictions are being done and chances and hardworks to turn these predictive dreams into reality. Now you will be curious enough to know, what are the predictions and trends that we will witness very soon. Of course, I will introduce them.

While every day seems to bring a whole bunch of predictions and thoughts for this new year, I have selected this excellent article which will provide you an extremely interesting overview of emerging technology-enabled trends that will shape businesses and the economy in coming years.

  • Online Collaboration Tools : Real-time and asynchronous collaboration tools entering the space as well as notable innovation from many of the existing players. Screen-sharing will become a standard integrated OS or application integrated feature in an increasing number of cases.
  • Mobile : Access remotely all of your tools, music, data and multimedia content, while being able to play it back on any television set or computer you will find available
  • Mobile Live Video : The ability to stream live video from anywhere you may be without having to open your whole notebook is the new video-casting frontier
  • Online Marketing : Wave of services and tools that can help you simplify and manage more efficiently all of these chores. From pushing your new content to the best most relevant social media destinations for your target audience
  • P2P : Front stage for publishing and sharing contents in ways that need not be underground or illegal in any way. Radio, film and video distribution, and to a large degree live television can so greatly benefit from P2P distribution approaches
  • Conversational Tools - Microblogging : Tools will start to integrate audio and video functionalities using an approach similar to Seesmic, the new still in Beta service which allows individuals to shoot out short video messages while forming their own personalized social network.
  • Widgets : Further innovation and new content publishing tools that allow you and your readers to package and distribute your content in multiple ways
  • OpenID : You should see larger adoption of this new identification standard which is free, non-proprietary and which can be integrated in most any web-based service out there.
  • Off-line Web-based Applications : Off-line web apps going mainstream and leveraging this unique feature as a critical competitive selling point to significantly increase their user base.
  • X-Events: Guarantee much greater success to the physical venue, extended exposure and visibility for all commercial partners, much greater opportunities for engagement and social networking for participants as well as an infinitely more capable platform for including presentations and shows from a greater number of people.

Executives looking for some prescriptive recommendations for 2008 and beyond, should closely watch these trends - many aimed at enhancing the way the Media is being used - with an objective to change how companies innovate, managers make decisions, organisations lower costs, tap talent and realise new business opportunities.
