The other day I went to a show in Delhi featuring an NRI stand-up comic where the hall of 2000 was overflowing with mainly young men and women. This comic launched into graphic descriptions of all kinds of sexual acts with actions to match and his language was sprinkled liberally with four-letter words, both in Hindi and English. How this act passed our prissy censors is beyond me but I expected some people to walk out as the show, though funny, was just plain vulgar. Nothing of the sort happened. Everyone laughed and cheered for more. It then occurred to me that there is a whole new world of sexuality out there. Look around and you will see changes. Couples locked in embraces on park benches, walking the streets holding hands, extensive coverage about sex in the media even TV soaps incorporating sexual issues into their story lines. Sex is definitely out of the closet in urban India.

Hi, according to me it comes naturally to this very modern urbanized breed to discuss freely on topics like sex. When at one end sex education is becoming an important part of the indian education system, and on another end outrage like in meerut and by shiv sena should be condemned. It should now be accepted as the real truth of a life leading to a new life. And the urban pupils should feel freee to voice their views and feelings so much as its a widely covered topic in the magazines these days. SEX is now not a cliche.

SEX IS NEITHER BAD NOR ITS ENJOYMENT IN ELABORATING EXHIBITION / PARTICIPATION IS THE SYMBOL OF CHANGING IN TRENDS IN URBAN AREA. RATHER SEX IS AN INTRINSIC PROPERTY OF ALL CREATURES IN NATURE.

THERE IS NOTHING EXPLORATION AND TO SAY IT TO THE SYMBOL OF THE WHOLE SOCIETY IF YOU CONSIDER THE ANCIENT SCULPTURES, PAINTINGS & ELABORATIONS ALL OVER WORLD IN THIS MATTER.

THE GROUP OF PEOPLE ENJOYING IN SUCH EXHIBITION CAN ONLY BE REPRESENTED BY THOSE COMPRISING WHO ARE EITHER AVERAGE UNDERSTANDING IN THIS FIELD OR WHO ARE CURIOUS FOR NEW STYLE OR MEDIA OR CRITICS.

SO, THE THING TO WORRY ABOUT THAT IS WHETHER SUCH EXHIBITION SHOULD BE CONFINED BY INVITATION AND FOR VERY SPECIAL PURPOSE OR JUST TO OPEN FOR ALL TO OFFER AN IDEA TO UTILIZE AND TO GET ALLOWED TO DEVELOP THE SAME AS A FULL FLEDGED SERVICE INDUSTRY...

All I can say is that India is moving ahead even in its thought processes. Some resistance for sure but we are surely progressing in this field.

Very nice subject to dealwith sir. Its great to know that you have touched a great subject. Many in the world believe that the strenth of India is in its values. But, our people are igonoring these values and embracing the foreign culture. To the extent we are wrong, we must change. But, when it is proven that our values are good and our family system is great, then, its unfortunate if someone forgets all our values as it spreads like a dangerous virus. The trend is seen recently with this globalisation, the outsourcing industries, call centres, IT companies etc. But, the problem is not with the industry at all, but, it is with the people or few people who are working there. They lack the ability to know what is right and what is wrong. We are witnessing many divorce petitions from very very young people and its very much seen from the people who are working in this IT industries or the call centres. In our family system, woman is the homeminister, the man is the person who earns money and takes care of external affairs and oversees everything like a prime minister. The mother, in such a system, takes care of family and especially children and in the course, the children's future will be very very good. But, its true that its all depend upon the individuals and their tastes. But, this free sex or the vulgarity as you explained is very very dangerous to this society and if we embrace that, then, we will be loosing our great strength. The strength of India lies in our value system and the culture. Many developed countries are looking at us and our culture and our abilities and they are learning.
I think, its all comes with the value-less education system. When we have studied, there was a special class each day assigned for teaching morals. We learnt that one should 'respect elders' and 'one should not lie'. But, are our children reading all this and are schools and colleges gives importannce to this teaching values. If we don't learn and teach values to our children, the consequences will be really disastrous as I think.

I will not really oppose this. There is no harm in discussing abt sex. I still believe that "Buraai dekhne waale ki aakhon or soch mein hoti hai". And in my point of view the young generation is miss guided by the porn sites and books about sex. We should have open forums & sex classes in schools & colleges to take the youngsters thaught on right track and right knowledge abt sex.

I don't really see a harm there :) I know how it sounds to some ears but I guess it is always better to bring it out of the closet rather than pile up the garbage in our mind and take some desperate steps at the end.....
