Terror Attack on Sri Lanka cricket team !!!
What a shame ???
Some very sad and frightening news coming in from Pakistan. Five armed terrorists attacked the convoy surrounding the Sri Lankan team bus and five policemen were killed.
A report says eight members of Sri Lanka's national cricket team have been wounded after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in Lahore, Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board security official Nadeem Iqbal says the team members were injured near the stadium where they were due to arrive to play. Sri Lankan team manager Brendon Kruppu confirmed the incident and said the team's batsman, Kumar Sangakkara, was among the injured.
Unidentified gunmen attacked the bus taking the Sri Lankan cricket squad and its police escort to a cricket stadium in Lahore, according to witnesses and cricket officials. 4-5 policemen have been killed as the police van escorting Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore was fired upon, reports say.
The Test match has been cancelled.
Security concerns have plagued Pakistan for years and some foreign sports teams have refused to play here.
I am sure we will see no more International cricket being played in Pakistan.
Not that we saw much cricket being played there in 2008. In future, we won’t see any.
But the question is where we are heading to with this kind of destruction.....
