TURNING POINT A Different Kind of Pyramid Club An Article by Fred Edge Published in Readers Digest, November 2002   More years ago than I care to remember, I became a member of a very special kind of “pyramid club”. A teenager on summer break from high school in Ottawa, Canada, I got the urge to see more of my country. I hitchhiked, landing a few odd jobs along the way – picking apples or chopping firewood for a meal and permission to bed down in some farmer’s barn. Finally I ran out of money and jobs. It was late in the evening when a very old car chugged up the road; it stopped when I thrust out my thumb.   The driver was a middle aged man worn work clothes – a local farmer. When we came ...

This is an ‘untold story’ from Mahabharat, published in a Sanskrit Magazine, many years ago. My father used to read it out to me and translate into my mother tongue. It goes like this: Duryodhan is lying in the battle field, awaiting death, badly bruised by the wounds inflicted by Bhima. He kept his three fingers in a raised position and is unable to speak. All the efforts made by his men to understand the meaning proved to be futile. Seeing his plight Krishna approached him and said “I know what issues occupied your mind. I will address them”. He clarified that the issues are a)      not building a fort around his capital city, b)      not persuading Vidur to participate in the battle c)...

Heaven,  Hell,  God and MYSTERY ? The mystery is the question of being untouched; Or, Is the solution still to be fetched? The silence sustained     I have not gain, Is this the feeling of pleasure and pain? I am docile but not hostile, and you are unaware in the hue and cry. THE TALE BEGINS……….. The angle came, and called my name: I am the one who will realize what you are, Just come closer and don’t stand so far. Closeness for me was just the lust. “The lust is best, the rest is crap” I again replied, but the angel denied. The truth was the lesson and I was tied.   I was unaware and refused to change Love was the magic which she bestowed on her way, But, the weird lust came again and made...

A man is driving down a country road, when he spots a sardar standing in the middle of a huge field of grass. He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that Santa is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing. The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the sardar and asks him, “Ah excuse me sir, but what are you doing?” Santa replies, “I’m trying to win a Nobel Prize.” 'How?” asks the man, puzzled. ”Well I heard they give the Nobel Prize to people who are out standing in their field.”

Your thinking can make hell out of heaven and heaven out of hell. Take the example of the great Napoleon Bonaparte and Helen Keller. Napoleon had everything in his life: Money, power, status and recognition. But do you know what he has to say at end of his life? He said he could never see Six days of happiness in his whole life. In stark contrast to him is Helen Keller, the women who was deaf, dumb and blind. Author of many books, she had all together a different view of life. In spite of handicaps, she asserted that life was so beautiful! http://groups.google.co.in/group/treat-for-tat?hl=en
