Manager Site Development, Apr 2005 to Sep 2008 Reported to the Vice President Technology and led a team of 6 in implementing systems for meeting requirements of BPs HSSE standards, quality standards, Capital Value Process and procurement guidelines to transform the Mumbai R and D Centre to a global Centre of Excellence. Spearheaded implementation and maintenance of Total Quality Management processes and certification norms of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. Assured compliance with the regulations of Factories Act, Mumbai Municipality, Mumbai Port Trust, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and liaised with statutory authorities for obtaining and renewing approvals. Key Contributions Led the local application and customization of BP global processes with limited resources in coordination with the BP global team. Collaborated with architects, contractors and structural consultants to influence the adoption of benchmark standards of HSSE in projects under execution. Developed a Supplier Evaluation Matrix for selection of vendors for various services based on predefined key criteria. Completed the project as part of the Diploma in Supply Chain Management from APICS. Played a key role in a global BP marketing project on the use of base oils obtained from re-refining of used lubricants in low tier products in an attempt to reduce the carbon footprint. Worked with the global BCP team and developed the business continuity plan for the R and D unit and led the table top validation and release of the plan. Was a core member team for implementing BPs Winning in Lubricants Globally (WILG) strategy. Developed the R and D Project Costing Model and provided functional inputs for creating the business risk assessment model. Deputy Manager Business and Commercial Services Worked closely with VP Technology and implemented a performance management system at the R and D Centre. Presented the self assessment on the scorecard to Mr. Naveen Khatriya MD Castrol India Ltd. Developed capital and revenue expenditure budgets, forecasts and conducted variance analysis, scrutinized spend proposals to ensure adherence to the sanction limits, Castrol India BMF, procurement guidelines and allocation of costs to the correct cost centre and expense code. Provided technical support to marketing through business research on aftermarket quality of fuel additives and performance chemicals. Created the Risk Reward framework to develop strategies for new product development (NPD) and supported marketing in the finalization of the product brand architecture. Was a core team member for the implementation of 5S, TQM, QS9000 and ISO 14001 standards including participation in internal audits. Devised a new technique to quantify the contributions of R and D to the business - gross margin ratio and innovation ratio. Contributed to the Castrol-BP Synergy formulation rationalization project. Won an outstanding performance award, 2001. As the Project Manager led the implementation of quality systems - Castrol Lab-flow and Achiever Plus.
