Yeah that is a great Idea. Most of these folks working abroad can bring in $s to invest in businesses here. Govt should provide them such scope and openings. On the same lines... there is a lot of scope for Social entrepreneurship and innovation.

Google is partnering with privately held firm Energy, to provide households with free energy management software called PowerMeter, which will boost energy efficiency. Google had launched PowerMeter, which is a web tool in February in US to let consumers monitor how much electricity they use at home. But in order to use PowerMeter consumers needed a smart meter installed. Many customers have already tested and used this application. Now, consumers can buy Energy's power-usage measuring device called TED 5000 which costs around $200, and use Google's software on top of it, without ever needing a smart meter. Even though many companies are now trying to propagate smart meters they still accou...

Today at work I heard something that I had not heard in a long time and that made me stop dead in my tracks. One of my bosses actually thanked me for my efforts. Why was I floored with a simple thank you? Quite simply, it had probably been several months before I had heard these words come out of her mouth. Usually I am greeted with a recap of what went wrong the previous day, or the reasons why her job is so difficult. But today my day was instantly trasformed because I received a thank you. For the rest of the day, I made it a point to thank all of my associates for any reason that entered my head. Although I know I was not as lacking as boss #3 in the thank you department, I’m sure I c...

The word thanks should come from the heart and not as animated tone, because usually people say thanks after getting satisfaction for the work or the help received from other person. Certainly yes the saying thanks is good gesture.

Listening to the Weak Signals Leaders are known not just for their great hits but also their misses. Be it the political landscape or the world of sports, seldom have great names escaped missing the opportune moment or overlooking them. Whether it is missing intelligence reports on terror attacks or backing off from a deal that goes on to create millions, the world in retrospect can be a cruel one for those who miss the signals. So while there are businesses waiting for the right opportunity and conditions in these times of perceived uncertainty, there are also those who believe in simply playing it out irrespective of what the soothsayers are saying. What differentiates the two is the insi...

MYSORE DUSSEHRA Celebrated In : Mysore, karnataka To Celebrate : The Victory of good over evil Duration : 10 days In the month of : September - October The Dussehra of Mysore or Mysore Dassara as it is famously called is a 10-day long festival. On the day of Dussehra, a procession of caparisoned elephants carrying the idol of goddess Chamundi is taken through the city. While most parts of India celebrate Dussehra in commemoration of Lord Rama's victory over the demon-king Ravana, Karnataka celebrates it in honour of Goddess Chamundeswari who killed the great demon, Mahishasura. The festival is celebrated in a grand style with scores of cultural performances in the great Durbar Hall of the M...

A phrase that comes up a lot nowadays is 'Perception is Reality.' Although this concept is wrong on a factual basis, it is reality in terms of living in today's society in which interacting and relating to others is a necessity for survival and success in today's world. When it comes to the field of communications, which is basically the most important field in terms of work and life, other people's perceptions can dramatically shape our self concept and self esteem. It can also make or break a career. Whether the perceptions are accurate or not, if your actions portray laziness, rudeness or a lack of professionalism, whether it's deserved, or not, it can make or break a career path. In gro...

It’s not unusual for intelligent people to get themselves stuck in a deep rut in life. By rut, I mean a somewhat extended period of time flooded with low motivation, poor moods, negative thinking patterns, and little or no productivity. A rut like this can be extremely difficult to get out of. I’ve been there several times, so I know that rediscovering productivity and finding the motivation to delve into anything even remotely challenging can seem nearly impossible. However, we must eventually come to our senses and realize that there’s no point in going through life feeling unmotivated, tired, stressed out, and unhealthy. Misery is, after all, a choice.
