When used on phones with GPS (including the Pre and MyTouch 3G, though not the iPhone), Google Maps crowdsources huge batches of data on how fast you're travelling on a particular street, thus measuring traffic for fellow drivers. This is a great way to know the traffic details on your route, and would save a lot of time by avoiding such places which are in traffic jams......so a great concept and also lets us know the vehicle density in our travel area....
